Scottish snorkelling splashdown

THE WEEKEND OF 27 / 28 JUNE WILL SEE a range of events across Scotland aimed at opening up snorkelling for all.
Building on the success of last year’ s Scottish Snorkelling Festival, 2026’ s event will now offer even more opportunities to explore Scotland’ s stunning snorkel trail network.
Launched in partnership with the Berwickshire Marine Reserve, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and BSAC Snorkel Centres, last year’ s Snorkel Festival focused on Berwickshire’ s own snorkel trail. As well as Berwickshire Marine Reserve’ s festival focus on their six snorkel routes, this year’ s event has expanded to include the Moray Firth.
New for 2026, the weekend will see a Snorkelling for All event in Moray, coordinated by the Scottish Wildlife
Trust to celebrate the development of a Snorkelling for All awareness course. The event will take place at Hopeman Beach where snorkelling activities such as guided snorkels and seashore safaris will support people of all abilities to take part. Saturday 27 June will focus on mobility support, with adaptive equipment available, while Sunday will focus on sensory support, with British Sign Language interpreters and sighted guiding available.
Scottish Wildlife Trust Marine Policy Inclusion Officer Elouise Dalziel said the inclusion of Snorkelling for All in the festival plans was an exciting development for 2026.
“ This event brings together communities, alongside experts in marine conservation and outdoor access, to celebrate the launch of the new Snorkelling for All programme.
“ As part of our Sea the Connection project, funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, we hope that, by championing inclusive access to Scotland ' s seas for people with disabilities, more community members will be inspired to get involved in marine policy conversations.”
