Submarines belong below the surface . But some of them remain there forever . When we visit submarines sometimes it feels like they ’ re just resting there before they continue on their way . This photo shows a Soviet S-Class submarine that sank during the Second World War . I am investigating the conning tower , looking for details that could identify the sub . We think this sub is either S-6 or possibly the
S-4 , but cannot be certain . Diver John Johnsson found what appears to be a mine anchor a short distance away from the hull . The Soviet Navy lost at least 51 subs in the Baltic sea alone .
