Brittlestars on the Epsilon
Discodoris rosi nudi
ballan wrasse buzzing around but watch out for the crazy spider crabs that often charge at you . The swim through to the crack of life is great and the amount of life in that crack never disappoints . You have the option of a bit more depth here and on a spring tide could get 22m . On the deeper parts of the reef there are dead man ’ s fingers , jewel anemones and pink sea fans . Last year Drawna rocks was blessed with several Atlantic Octopus , so here ’ s hoping that the eggs have hatched for this year .

6 Boiler envy on the Epsilon

Tompot blenny in the boiler
It ’ s the boilers for me every time ! Every little hole has a little soul peering out at you . I could spend hours happily sat there photographing the congers and blennies – I ’ ve even seen urchins joining the party . Unfortunately , as much as I ’ d like to , I can ’ t actually stay for hours on my single 12 litre tank with a max depth of 26m , but I can multi-level by moving up on top of one of the boilers where I can then spend another few minutes photographing the nudibranchs before popping back up the shot . To be fair on the few occasions that I have explored elsewhere I ’ ve been delighted to see octopus and cuttlefish hiding amongst the wreckage and much of the seabed is covered in a carpet of brittlestars .
