F Rhosneigr Sub Aqua Club Sunset at Rhosneigr
This friendly and relaxed club has adopted the approach of ‘ try before you buy ’. Divers who are interested in joining are encouraged to look at the dive programme on Facebook , and if they want to come along , they can contact the dive manager and dive with the club ; no pressure .
The majority of club diving takes place around the training and development of Ocean Divers and Sports Divers using single cylinders in 20-30 metres . Many members go on to develop an interest in the underwater environment , marine life , and photography so that they can capture and convey the wonders of the underwater world to show their friends and family .

Where is the club based ?
We live on Anglesey , Ynys Môn in Welsh , the largest island in the Irish Sea . It is an area of exceptional coastal beauty and diversity that provides plenty of opportunity for convenient local dives along some 150 miles of coastline . Rhosneigr Sub Aqua Club ( Rhosac ) operates out of Ty Hen Holiday Park , on the south-west coast , which gives us access to the neighbouring Lleyn Peninsula .
How many members do you have ?
We ’ ve bounced back , in the last six months , to around 30 members : that ’ s more than pre-Covid . We ’ re hoping to build on this success with a recruitment / training drive over the winter , ready for the 2022 season .
Who are your members ?
They have a range of diving certifications and experience . At the time of this interview , we had : three trainees ; seven Ocean Divers ; nine Sports Divers ; one Dive Leader ; and 12 Advanced Divers . They range in age from 18 to 62 , but most are mid-30s to mid-50s . Members come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds . One of our aims is to promote equality , diversity and equity . In recent years we have made a point of welcoming LGBT members into the club . We also want to address the underrepresentation of women in our recruitment drive this winter .
Does the club own a boat ?
Our 5.8-metre Tornado RIB , powered by an 115hp engine , can carry up to eight divers with kit , and we have a tractor for local launching . Our peak diving season is March to October . We get the RIB out on Sundays and on weekday evenings during British Summer Time , when the evenings and weather permit .
What other resources does the club have ?
The club compressor , which fills cylinders with fresh North Wales air to 232 Bar , is kept at our base . We provide safety equipment ,
