The early part of the day saw some strong winds , providing a moment of drama as one of the exhibitors ’ gazebos was swept into the water , taking with it items of equipment and a fully kitted mannequin . There was a moment of frozen astonishment as those present watched the upended gazebo
drifting serenely across the lake .
Then , who should take the initiative but SCUBA Woman herself , Michelle Haywood . Already clad in her drysuit in preparation for the rebreather try dives , Michelle ( these days an elected Member of the House of Keys ) strode into the water and hauled the errant gazebo back to shore . A special mention should also go to another SCUBA columnist , Yo-Han Cha , who made the journey all the way from Bristol to join the fun .
UK divers love a treasure hunt , and a cache of ‘ gold ’ bars had been distributed at various points across the lake .
