Cayman divers clean up
BSAC CLUB CAYMAN ISLANDS DIVERS have finished what they started and cleaned up an entire beach blighted by discarded polystyrene.
As reported in SCUBA Hub( January 2026 issue), the Caribbean-based club previously removed 28 bin bags of polystyrene waste left behind by a makeshift raft that had washed up on the island’ s coastline.
Determined to see the job through, and under the initiative of the club’ s Marine Champion Samantha Cooper, members returned to finish the job. The second clean-up brought the total to 75 sackfuls and made the headlines in the Cayman Islands’ national newspaper.
