different names including fairy penguins, little
penguins, or blue penguin. Little blue penguins
are the smallest types of penguins with a height
of 14 inches and a they weigh about 22 pounds,
which is a third if the size of an emperor
penguin. Little blue penguins are so small, they
have to catch fish that are 2-5 inches long.Little
blue penguins are small, while emperor
penguins are the biggest penguins with a height
of about 35 inches. They can even weigh up to
90 pounds! Emperor penguins can dive down to
1,850 feet, which is deeper than any other
penguin.

Survival
Usually when penguins are hungry, they hunt.
When they hunt they like to eat squid, shrimp,
shrimp like animals, and krill, but zookeeper at
Como Park Zoo Melanie says, “ We feed the
penguins fish and vitamins to keep them
healthy.” There are also
a lot of predators that try to eat penguins, like
killer whales and leopards seals. Sometimes
penguins can get out of the water before their
predators can get them. By using their sharp
bill, that has a hook like shape at the end of it
and many sharp teeth they can get out of the
water before their predators get them. Another
way penguins get away from predators, is while
they are swimming above their predators, if
their predator looks up they can only see the
penguins white stomach, which blends in with
the water and sun. While they are swimming
they jump out of the water and into the air to
catch their breath. Another thing penguins do
This is a baby penguin
while they’re swimming is they use the sun to
navigate.
Usually if penguins don’t get eaten, they
jump out of the water and waddle quickly away,
but if emperor penguins go to fast they can get
stressed out very quickly. After they get out of
the water, emperor penguins walk on the
Antarctica coast where they live and where they
can’t be taken out of. Meanwhile on the
Antarctic pack ice, adelie penguins are
swimming away from their predators, the
leopard sea,l and waddling fast away from
skuas which are big brown birds. Hopefully
