Look there’s another emperor penguin over there, but there’s a seal chasing him. Quickly he jumps out of the water away from the seal’s sharp teeth. Other penguins besides emperor penguins are scared of seals too and can hopefully get away while they might be looking for food to survive. In his article you will learn about different types of penguins and how they survive. Types of penguins and Their Features Different types of penguins have different and cool features, but they still have things in common. All penguins can’t fly, but are amazing and fast swimmers. Their short thick feathers help them while their swimming by being strong and though. Their backs are usually black, or, bluish-gray and their stomachs are usually white. After a swim penguins usually go back to their colony, which can have up to 2.5 million penguins. To tell what types of penguins are in the colony, people look at the markings on their heads, their different neck and body shapes and sizes. Also people split penguins into two groups warm-climate and cold-climate. Warm- climate penguins don’t have as much body fat as cold-climate penguins, that’s how people tell the difference between them.
