THE GREAT GREEK GODS

own children although, his children are not Olympians and don’ t have as much attention.
Hades can mean different things or mean different things. His Roman form, Pluto, means wealth because he is a god of many things and one of them are wealth and riches. Hades can also be called“ Chthonian Zeus” which means he was like the dark Zeus because Hades is the least respected, but one of the big three( three most powerful Olympians also known as Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon).
Most gods Greek and goddesses had a godly weapon from the cyclopes. Hades’ s godly weapon was very similar to his Poseidon’ s weapon. His weapon was a pitchfork like the trident. Even though Poseidon was the god of earthquakes Hades’ pitchfork could make earthquakes.
Hades has many strange symbols. One of his symbols were the drinking horn because the drinking horn is like wealth or abundance like death. A cypress tree can also be a symbol. Cerberus is an odd symbol because he is a 3-headed giant dog who guards the underworld that actually works for Hades that is a one-of-a-kind animal. Even a scepter is his symbol even though it doesn’ t have a lot to do with him. The scepter means he guards the realm very carefully, but is also pictured with a key too.
The abilities of the gods or goddesses were very powerful you can probably tell by now. Dr. Richard Martin, University of Stanford Professor, says,“ They( the Greeks) thought the divinities were very powerful but also dangerous if you did not do
what they( Greek gods or goddesses) wanted.” From Athena’ s shield to Zeus’ s lightning bolt you should never mess with the gods or goddesses.
