Public: hub West Scotland
courtyards, allowing a high level of natural daylight and venti-
lation throughout the building. Designed from the outset to
accommodate future flexibility and an innovative layout, it is
hoped the building will become a valued asset within the wider
community, and make a positive contribution to the health and
wellbeing of the local service users and staff.
Indeed, by offering real opportunities to work more closely
with GPs and provide space for Third Sector and community
groups to offer support and information to local people, the
completed project meets key hub West Scotland objectives.
Moreover, its foresight will aid the future delivery of integrated
health and care services.
Designed to provide clear orientation, wayfinding and
ease of movement throughout for both members of the pub-
lic and staff, the total cost of the building was £14.9m with
£9.2m provided by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and
£5.7m provided by East Renfrewshire Council.
Unlike other frameworks, hub West Scotland is a develop-
ment partner committed to
long term relationships with
clients. The organisation only
works within the West Territo-
ry and relies on the success of
its relationships and the deliv-
ery of projects in order to be-
come the public sector’s “de-
velopment partner of choice”.
It achieves this through its
performance managed supply
chain featuring largely local
businesses who have demon-
strated best practice and en-
during standards. Continually
monitored, the supply chain
are encouraged to drive their
own standards in order to win
further work. Hub West Scotland is currently refreshing its sup-
ply chain focusing not only on existing top performing members
but businesses that have displayed the partnering ethos, so im-
portant to the framework.
The Scottish Property Awards is a prestigious industry acco-
lade to win. hub West Scotland will find out in March if Eastwood
Health and Care Centre takes home the top prize in its category. n
