2015
saw Scott Dixon racing on the leader boards, with our syndicate
group The P J Dixon & Partners enjoying national success. We continued
to push forward and attracted a new yard sponsor in “Socialites”
https://www.socialiteszero.com/ who enjoyed a fabulous first foray into
ownership with their own Socialites Red taking them to Ascot and
winning a valuable race at Leicester. For the 2015 Championship period
the team enjoyed 33 winners with 31 second places 40 third placings
and 45 fourth placings.
2016 Started off in fantastic fashion with Crosse
Fire finding the form
we knew he would and from the 15th of December to the 10th of March
his form figures read 3-1-1-3-1-3-1, these wins included a class 2 0-105
handicap.
This meant that he was in contention for the winning most horse on the
aw as well as one of the biggest prize money earners of the all weather season. Another horse who helped get the year off the a great start was Boots
and Spurs who won two valuable handicaps from December to January
including a 0-95 class 3 at Southwell. His winning did not stop there and
he won a shade cosily at local track Doncaster in a typically competitive
class 4 handicap. He has been a pleasure to train since moving to us from
Newmarket still looks capable of running big races in valuable contests.
Coiste Bodhar is another who has been a little star since joining the team
winning 7 races in total 4 of which have been this year all at local tracks
Thirsk,Pontefract, Southwell and recently at Nottingham.
Sir Geoffrey has had another stand out year by winning a further 3 races putting him at a total of 18 which makes him
the winning most horse in training . A fantastic achievement by both the horse and the team. The brilliant start to the
season was not to last however and we were unfortunate enough to pick up a
virus during the summer. This obviously had an effect on the horses
performance and we had to minimise runners and eventually stop running for
a brief time. This is something that happens to all yards from time to time and
2016 was a particularly bad year for many trainers in the country who suffered
the same fate. I’m pleased to say the horses are now in fantastic health and the
time off will have put them in good stead for the 2017 season.
