Probably the best

known touristic landmark from Romania, the Bran castle gained its popularity after Bram Stoker turned it into “Count Dracula’s castle” in his novel “Dracula”. the top of a cliff, in a mountainous region, made it a perfect location for the story.

Peles Castle

Considered by many a

true architectural jewel, the Peleș castle is probably the most beautiful of all the Romanian castles. Built about 150 years ago, as a Summer residence for the Romanian kings, the castle was the first edifice of such kind in Europe that was fully-powered with electricity. The castle even had an elevator and a small private cinema. One can only be impressed by the multitude of decorations and the opulence of this castle. Next to it, there is another small castle, the Pelișor castle, which was built as a residence for the Crown Prince and Princess of that time. This one is a bit more modern and also a bit smaller.

They are both located in Sinaia, a beautiful mountain resort, which still keeps a royal spirit because of the multitude of old buildings built during the interwar period and before.
