drinks

“Pălinca” (or Țuica) is the most popular Romanian traditional drink. It is a spirit made of plums and it has an alcohol percentage of 50-60

degrees. Romanians

usually make it at

home and they

rarely buy it

from

supermarkets.

Romanians also love to drink. Although beer is a very popular drink in Romania, we have traditional drinks too.

Actually, just like pălinca, Romanians make brandies out of almost any fruit. The one made of sour-cherries (vișinată) is very much appreciated by women, because it has a sweet flavour.

It is very common for Romanian adults of all ages to drink a shot of pălinca or brandy before lunch.
