“She told me that she would text me in the evening, it is seven already. It is practically night. Why hasn’t she messaged me yet? We are not even friends yet, and she already hates me? She was the first genuine person I have come across, and I have blown my chance already?”, she wrung her hands in the air, pulling at her hair as she looked up at Luna. The heavenly body seemed in no mood to listen to any of the girl’s laments, as she was showing only half of herself that day, and was planning to hide even that behind some clouds. The girl glared at Luna for some time, waiting for her to come out. But the moon seemed too comfortable behind the clouds. “Just come out, won’t you? What are you waiting for? An invitation?” And as Luna once again slowly made her way out from behind the clouds, the girl’s eyes widened in realization. Move!”, her friend screamed into her ears. This is it. She moved forward, letting her friend cross past her. “So… where is this friend you wanted me to meet?”, her friend questioned, peering through the empty terrace. She smiled nervously. “You are looking at the wrong place. Search…”, she caught hold of her friend’s chin, tilting it up to look at the sky. “higher.” Silence. Her friend kept staring up at the sky, no expression on her face. Luna was at her best today, unusually brighter and bigger, having come closer to earth for this special occasion. And as time went by, and her friend just kept looking, the girl started biting his lips.
