MAVEN Sets Forth to Mars

NASA has yet again set forth into the unknown. This time the destination is the red planet. On November 18th the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) mission rocketed off of Earth toward Mars. MAVEN will help solve the mystery of Mars' escaping atmosphere. Scientists have linked intense solar winds to one part of the problem. MAVEN will study the solar winds, ionosphere, and high atmo- sphere of Mars. The information pro- vided by MAVEN will show a never seen history of Mars. This history may contain a long term habitable envi- ronment or not. Curiosity Rover will soon meet up with MAVEN and produce results that are out of this world. -GR
