90% of any washing machine’s energy is spent on heating the water so wash your clothes at 30-40 °C. Your washer use the same amount of energy regardless the amount of clothes inside so to save energy fill it to the maximum. Air-dry your laundry rather than drying it.

Substitute the plastic water bottles by a reusable stainless steel bottle and use filtered tap water. Plastic bottles contain a toxic chemical ‘BPA’ for both people and environment. Many water bottles are not recycled therefore it ends up polluting the environment at a larger scale since it takes hundreds of years to disintegrate.

The ‘phantom loads’ refers to the energy that an electronic device consumes when it is not in use, so unplug the devices that are not actually turned on. 75% of the electricity used is consumed when the products are turned off.
