Stevenson , Venus has interned with MB Design Gallery where she worked with custom high-end garments , and at Under Armour as a technical fashion designer . Of her Under Armour experience , Venus says , “ This gave me the opportunity to develop my skills , take on interesting projects , and work with some of the best innovative thinkers in the industry .” |
Stevenson ’ s fashion design program provides a comprehensive approach to technical fashion design and prepares students for work in the exciting global women ’ s wear , men ’ s wear , and children ’ s wear industries . With a strong foundation in business , the liberal arts , fine arts , and design , the program gives students industry-relevant experiences that cultivate skills in ready-to-wear and couture garment construction . Students will gain an understanding of the market , historic context of fashion and costume , and consumer psychology , all of which are important aspects of preparing for a career in the fashion design industry .
Working in Stevenson ’ s dedicated fashion design studio , students use two- and three-dimensional manual and computer-aided patternmaking and specialized fashion designing techniques .
The program draws on the expertise of the Stevenson University Fashion Design Advisory Board , which is comprised of leaders from all aspects of the fashion design industry . Board members have backgrounds in manufacturing , global sourcing , design studios , fashion retailers , apparel boutiques , fashion education , and professional organizations .
