Our research group is working on synthesis of bioactive compounds which demonstrates antimicrobial activity and / or potential activity for cardiovascular disease. We are also interested in isolation, purification and identification of bioactive compounds from plants which have therapeutic potential.
We specialise in developing chemical sensors for applications in food, environment, cosmeceutical and pharmaceutical industries. Our expertise includes electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques such as voltammetry, potentiometry, liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy, gas chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance( NMR), Fourier Transform Infrared( FTIR) and UV-Visible spectroscopy.
Our research group focuses on the synthesis of novel chemical compounds with potential applications in addressing antimicrobial resistance and cardiovascular diseases.
I am driven to advance novel therapeutics that benefit the community
