The School of Business celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Monash Malaysia Business Alumni Dinner 2023 ! Over 130 alumni and staff gathered for an evening of connection , collaboration , and celebration . Professor Adeeba Kamarulzaman and Professor Nafis Alam warmly welcomed our alumni , sharing Monash University ’ s latest updates and achievements .
Distinguished alumnus Leonard Ariff Abdul Shatar presented insightful views on digital transformation and ESG challenges and opportunities . Professor Goh See-Kwong shared Monash Malaysia ’ s initiatives for shaping future graduates for the digital workforce and announced the launch of the Master of Digital Business program in 2024 .
Stand-up comedian Gajen Nad - a Monash alumnus as well - provided a wonderful opportunity for all to reconnect with old friends and forge new relationships .
Alumni insights on Green Businesses and Climate Action The annual alumni networking forum , MMBAC Connect 2023 highlighted businesses ’ pivotal role in environmental protection and climate action , focusing on the triple bottom line sustainability framework and showcasing recent policies for transitioning to a greener economy . Speakers discussed Australia ’ s Net Zero 2050 plan , Malaysia ’ s Green Technology Master Plan , and Monash University ’ s Net Zero Initiative , emphasising the importance of collaboration for effective climate action . The event promoted dialogue and collaboration , aligning with MMBAC ’ s priorities for sustainable development . We were honoured to have His Excellency Dr Justin Lee , Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia and Monash alumnus , officiate the event , reaffirming support for future engagements with the High Commission .
