The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub ( eiHub ) serves as a collaborative learning hub fostering creativity , supporting startups and aspiring entrepreneurs , and facilitating the development and execution of innovative concepts and solutions . It offers student entrepreneurs a holistic ecosystem for brainstorming , refining , and launching their ventures , achieved through :
COMPETITIONS eiHub Challenge : Ideas for Tomorrow
• Providing mentorship to student entrepreneurs via coaching , training , and industry involvement .
• Curating workshops and competitions to raise awareness of social and environmental issues , tackle local and global challenges , and empower individuals to be solutions-focused .
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PROGRAMS
Essentials of Entrepreneurship Workshop An interactive program guiding participants from ideation to pitching , incorporating activities like the Internet-of-Things Designer card game and hands-on prototyping with 3D pens . Through a series of workshops , students learn about business modeling , planning , and risk assessment , concluding with a pitching session with feedback from industry experts
Design Thinking Bootcamp
A certification program for Design Thinking enthusiasts , utilising the A3 Model to address real-world challenges creatively . Participants engage in hands-on activities , including mold / clay work and 3D printing , fostering problem-solving skills and confidence . Open to industry professionals , alumni , and Monash students .
A biannual ideation competition for Monash students , encouraging entrepreneurial solutions for EDI , sustainability , and technology access . Fostering innovation and pitching skills , it provides experiential learning through feedback and real-world practice . Last year ’ s challenge showcased 16 finalists from the School of Business , Engineering , Arts and Social Sciences , IT and Science .
In Semester 2 , 2023 , the competition ’ s theme of “ Hack the City ” prompted students to reimagine urban life with innovative ideas for improved facilities , signage , and utilities . Business student , Ian Phang Khai En emerged as the winner for his innovative concept , “ Gerak ,” aimed at enhancing facilities for senior citizens . p 47
