Graduate Research students make a significant contribution to the School ’ s research objectives . Competitive scholarships are available to graduate students who plan to embark on research that contributes to the strategic development of the global community and addresses global challenges .
Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship ( GEMS ) 2022

The Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship ( GEMS ) program aims to bring the best and brightest PhD students to Monash University Malaysia , where they can work with top-class research teams on some of the world ' s core challenges .
The GEMS program offers 15 scholarships each year from 2022 to 2024 , and scholarship recipients will be funded for 39 months . Each PhD student will be supervised by a team of staff in Malaysia and Australia , and as such , the program will include a paid placement in Australia for up to 12 months .
Grace Permatasari Tandipayuk and Dave Loh were the 2022 GEM scholars to study their PhD in the School of Business under the following research topics :
1 . The Impact of Business Training and Mentoring on Microfinance Clients : Short and Medium-term Evidence from Malaysia ( Grace Permatasari Tandipayuk )
2 . The Social and Financial Impact of FinTech ( Dave Loh )
Three-Minute Thesis ( 3MT ® ) Competition
The Three-Minute Thesis ( 3MT ® ) is an academic research communication competition to celebrate the exciting research conducted by PhD students in Australia and around the world .
In 2022 , third-year PhD student , Md IItemas Amin Adee of the School of Business emerged as a winner of the People ' Choice award for the Three-Minute Thesis Competition ( 3MT ® ) at the Malaysia campus level . Adee had an opportunity to represent Monash University Malaysia to present with other winners from Monash University Australia .
