SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
PROTECTION STRATEGY
School environmental activities started at 2013-2014 academic year following the motto
“Before too late” are going to gain a corporate working acceleration thanks to School
Environment Protection Strategy.
Environment education is described as developing environmental awareness in all
segments of society, educating eco- friendly individuals and enabling those behaviors
permanent, protection of natural, historical and cultural values, participating actively into eco-
friendly activities, taking responsibility in solving environmental problems.
It is stated that everybody has the right to live in a healthy and proper environment; it is
the duty of Government and citizens to keep environment clean and develop it, prevent
environmental pollution in the bylaw of “1982 Constitution Act”. In accordance with that
bylaw explicitly mentioned in the Constitution, it is required that every individual should live
in a better environment.
When the environment education is implemented seriously and every segments of society
makes contributions, it is possible to proceed in environment education.
Many activities have been conducted for four years within the scope of environment
education and environmental activities; and we got positive feedbacks.
Our school didn’t conduct environment activities in just one area but of course in different
areas. We feel proud of preparing School Environment Protection Strategy in order to gain a
corporate identity and set an example for other school in this area too.

CURRENT SITUATION OF SCHOOL AND ITS ENVIRONMENT
Taraşcı Şehit Okan Altıparmak Secondary School is located in ten kilometers away from the
city center and it is in the foothills of Toros Mountains. School building is 592 square meters.
School garden consists of social, sport and cultural activity areas (basketball and synthetic turf
football areas, enriched Z library) 3743 square meters in total. There are 24 permanent staff in
2017-2018 academic year. The staff consists of 17 teachers, 3 administrative personal and 4
support staff.
We conducted different activities regarding eco friendly activities. There is a school forest
named eco friendly which is renewed and added new sapling trees every year. There are
recycling activities conducted at school in coordination with Seydişehir Municipality and
collected recycling wastes are picked in regular periods.
