Fall of an Empire
by Claude IV
F
all of an Empire hails from the upstate of
South Carolina is a band relatively unknown, But that’s soon about to change. The
band Combines heavy blues based rock and Melodic vocals that rivals some of the best out there.
They Recently played New Brookland tavern and I
was able to sit down with them and talk Music, Life
and the future.
Where are you guys from?
FOAE: We are kind of spread out. Over a 2 hour
apart area but
we claim Spartanburg SC as
our hometown.
How
Long
have you been
a band?
FOAE: The idea
started in 2011,
but really didn’t
get rolling until
late 2012 so not
that long.
Is
this
your
first band? If not what other bands have
you been in?
FOAE: All of us have played in bands over the
years, of varying successes and types.
If not what bands are you from?
Founding FOAE members Shane and Brent met
while serving as the rhythm section in Circle of
Stones, a band that wrote some great songs but
never really got very far. Kind of a hodge podge
of Metal, Funk, and classic rock that really taught
them to not focus on one sound. Leman and
Kenny were both in Ten Grand Leg; a band that
Leman wrote all music for and performed vocals
while drumming, Kenny played bass and sang
backup for a stint.
Who are your Influences?
FOAE: Each member adds there own flair and influences into the mix but the band kind of draws
its writing from Swedish Stoner rockers: Dozer,
Graveyard, The Sword and lots of other great
stoner rock bands as well as classics like Zeppelin
and Sabbath of course.

Where are your favorite places to Play?
FOAE: We are just glad to play. There are some
great clubs around this part of South Carolina
and we enjoy playing all of them. Two of the more
common ones you can find us are GroundZero in
Spartanburg and GottRocks in Greenville.
