Woman 1: Leave it. We’ll talk in the morning. Just, come to bed. Please, come to bed.
Man 1: I really should clean it up.
Woman 1: It’s broken, you can’t fix it just get in the damn bed okay?
Pause
I’m sorry.
Man 1: No, I am.
Woman 1: Will you please come to bed?

George’s Diner, late night. the jukebox playing lightly in the background (a la “Salt Peanuts” by
Dizzy Gillespie).
Man 1 and Man 2 sit in a booth, drinking coffee. Man 1 finishes his drink and leans back in his
seat.
Man 2: I see you’re done with your coffee.
Man 1 looks at his drink.
Man 2: Would you like a soda pop?
Man 1: No, thank you.
Man 2: I can pay, if you’d like.
Man 1: I can pay for myself.
Man 2: I’m sure you can, I was just offering.
Man 1: I’m sorry.
Pause
That’d be nice.
Man 2: What?
Man 1: The soda pop.
Man 2: I’ll go get some then.
