Also, in Geography, the Middle School have enjoyed studying Amazing
Africa, Action in the Atmosphere, Paradise Lost and Impossible Places.
Year 5 have produced some great work looking at life in squatter
settlements outside Nairobi in Kenya, whilst Year 8 have been looking at
the effects of tourism on the fragile ecosystem of Antarctica.
In French the Year 11s have been working extremely hard on controlled
assessments but have continued to correspond with students in France.
This has been an invaluable resource in giving real life relevance to
languages. We are working hard to build up other links with school
around the world. As a faculty we have some exciting times ahead in
the next year as our History trip to Poland will take place in the October
half term and there is a French trip planned to visit Lyon and the
memorable festival of lights. Learning outside of the classroom is
something that all our staff are passionate about and we hope to have
many more exciting and diverse opportunities to offer our students. If
you like Spanish food, watch this space!
All told, a productive term’s work.
