Year Group Reports Year 5 Reported by: Lucy Gray & Jake Woods We have really enjoyed our first term in Year 5, even though it is very different to Year 4 and First School. It is different because you are relied on a lot more and you have to move around a lot by yourself. This year we have also been split in to two form groups and this has taken some getting used to as we have been used to working as one big group. One of the different subjects we have enjoyed the most is double catering. We have made Croque Monsieur, fruit salad and cheese dip. They have all been lovely and I cannot wait until next term. Other subjects that we have enjoyed are French in which we have been learning how to introduce ourselves and Spanish where we have learnt how to describe ourselves. In our Humanities subjects, we have been learning about the different skills that we will be working on during Middle School and in History, we have been learning how to examine evidence and reach answers by solving a murder mystery. We have also been enjoying our E3 sessions, which have given us an opportunity to experience activities that we have not done before. These include: cross country, outside art club and the Great Scarisbrick Bake Off. In Wellbeing, we have been creating an ‘Online Safety’ campaign and have created posters to advise Middle School students on how to stay safe on line. In our other Wellbeing sessions, we have enjoyed creating the ‘Perfect Pupil’ and creating targets to help us stay organised. We have also been involved in different sporting and school activities and have enjoyed successes in both football and netball. For example, in football we played against Ashbridge and won 5-2 and in netball we played against Ashbridge and won 42-7. As well as sporting activities we have been able to get involved in helping to improve school facilities and speak up for the Scarisbrick students by being voted into the School council as the Year 5 council reps and are looking forward to helping the school in any way that we can. Year 6 Year 6 have had an exciting start to the year, as explained by a few of our roving reporters from 6I and 6R: Reported by: Niamh Jefferson and Eloise Callow In Drama this year, we have been doing about the Twits, making up our own scenes. The stories we have done are the worms in the spaghetti and the walking stick. We worked as a team to put plays together in our groups. Reported by: By Grace Simpson and Lottie Leek This year, we have been busy doing cookery lessons. We have learned how to use knives, graters and peelers safely, and all about different parts of the cooker. Also, we have been doing netball matches (home & away) and so far we have won them all! This year our Pantomime is Aladdin, and we have started bringing it together. Reported by: Alex Ward & Joe Baxter We were chosen for the U11 football team, we go to training every week and play matches most weeks. We have won two matches so far this season, but we have drawn many! We look forward to playing more games of football and hopefully winning!
