HMC Ambassador Committee is instrumental in reaching out to members to find out what their needs are and then letting the Chamber know how to assist that member. “There are a lot of competing organizations; however, HMC is specifically designed to grow our members’ businesses,” explained Peggy. “Every event is an opportunity for a member to exchange business cards, brochures, and develop referrals with like-minded people who are interested in the same thing. The Houston Metropolitan Chamber’s membership took a definite uptick as soon as oil prices went down. As a result, the Chamber had a lot more inquiries due to the fact that businesses seem to be reaching for every opportunity to have a competitive edge.
