Motul actually supply technical staff to give lectures and advice to the Technical Institute , to help the students share in and learn from the long experience the company has derived from a vast history in automotive lubrication and the extreme environment of motorcycle racing . a long time there , the longest history for Grand Prix racing in the world . Our business revolves about history , the present and the future but in motorsport , history , and with that comes ‘ trust ’, is really important . What name do you have ?”
Fabrizio explained more about supporting both MotoGP™ and WorldSBK at Assen . “ MotoGP™ is the leader , the driver of the awareness platform so it is our key goal to settle at TT Assen as the title sponsor ,” said Fabrizio . “ For all the Northern European markets it is a key goal to offer the best experience , the best event ever , together with the Mediterranean countries at Valencia and Motegi for the Japanese . Motegi is key because of the relationship we have as OEM with , for example , Suzuki and Yamaha in Japan . But at the Motul TT Assen we had a positive experience with Johann Zarco . The pre-event was very , very nice indeed , because we were able to consolidate our the brands as one , a great way to connect the dots between Motul and it ’ s racing partners . In Johan we have a good French rider for Pramac Ducati with whom we will have a strong relationship for three years - this year plus two more , and in with Pramac , the power generation company behind the MotoGP™ team name . Although we are not officially recognised as a Ducati partner , for us it was / is a perfect match to find a place there and tell our story . The story about how we work in motorsport , partners involved , riders involved , teams involved and businesses involved . And Assen is the perfect place because whatever you do in Assen is like having a stamp of officially being a motorsports player . It is one of those circuits that has such a strong heritage .”
Motul this season has adopted a joint promotional campaign with both MotoGP™ and WorldSBK at Assen , as Erik Drost , Area Manager Benelux for Motul , explained more fully . “ Assen for us is globally important as it is the place where a lot began ,” said Erik . “ Racing has been going on for
The past is one thing , but the future could be even more exciting for Motul and its customers . “ We make our products ready for the future but based on the experience and history people have with us , and what we have been doing since the 1960s and ‘ 70s , when we already were pioneers in introducing new products . We still are of course . This really matches with Assen the feeling , the history . Assen is not only great for Dutch people , it is an event where if you are physically there you know that there are always British people , German people - people from all over Europe . It is different from the Isle of Man TT of course , but somehow it carries a similar legend behind the event , the circuit and all that revolves around the races .”
Including WorldSBK - at Assen and elsewhere - in the company ’ s business and promotional plan is of great importance to Motul . “ Of course we have MotoGP™ there , and that is the pinnacle of our motorsport , but WorldSBK is also really important because people are can make themselves more familiar with the WorldSBK factory bikes that are closer to the actual audience and their own bikes ,” said Erik . “ And the great partnership we have there with HRC where we developed products together with them on the CBR1000RR-R HRC race kit bikes . It ’ s not for the masses but if you are one of the lucky ones , we have developed the ideal products for it , together with HRC . That is the connection you see if you are riding your own bike to work , or for fun on the weekends , and that customer connection is closer to Superbike racing than MotoGP™ racing .” Hence Motul ’ s joint push and presence at Assen for both MotoGP™ and WorldSBK fans , not one or the other
