The force of racing and life energy that is Alex Lowes is once more in the thick of the WorldSBK action on his official Kawasaki Racing Team Ninja . It ’ s been a long time since he was BSB champion in 2013 , but this weekend he is back on home tarmac with his eyes on the next prize , as ever . We caught up with Alex as he prepares to ride once more on his - literal - home circuit .
In 2014 Alex Lowes , one half of the double-trouble Lowes Boys racing brotherhood , packed away his hard-won BSB title for Samsung Honda and headed off to the big bad WorldSBK championship . This Sceptered Isle was clearly too small for the ambitions of Alex and his identical twin
Sam , so off they went as soon as they could to WorldSBK ( for Alex ) and WorldSSP / MotoGP™ / Moto2 ( for Sam ).
They are still manning their respective gun turrets , firing out as strong results as their considerable challenges allow . Having known them for a quite a long time I can attest that for the most part they are just slightly more mature versions of the fun-loving kids that came along to light up every paddock conversation with mirth and mischief when you bumped into them . Strangely , in some ways for identical twins so closely joined in all other ways away from the racetracks , they have gone in consistently different racing directions for most of their careers .
