Department , and even at this event they are supported by some personnel from MotoGP™ , who will be travelling from Austin to San Juan , after the recent MotoGP™ weekend in Texas . Before anything flies out to Argentina it first has to get from the previous round in Portimao , in a fleet of around 20 trucks . The two charter flights will depart from Zaragoza in northern Spain and will arrive in Tucumán , in the North West of Argentina . Once unloaded there around 18 trucks will drive the not inconsiderable 900 km by road to reach El Villicum . As well as freight , long hauls for Dorna involve a few less people than normal European races , but only a few , usually in some technical departments . This is also to do with there being no WorldSSP300 class at in Argentina either . The effects of Covid on international travel are well documented , but with charter flights - because you book the flight rather than running to someone else ’ s schedule - there are fewer problems than in commercial flights . The only main difference is in budget . There are simply fewer flights around , fewer charters to choose from , so the transportation budget has increased quite a lot this year . And there is a lot to transport . In total Dorna will fly around 750 cubic metres of equipment to Argentina , made up of 302 individual flight cases and boxes . The WorldSBK team with most individual crates is Team HRC with 38 and the one with least is the WorldSSP squad from MV Agusta , with three boxes . With the overall organiser ’ s situation now looked at , what about the teams themselves ? KRT , for example , will take around 32 staff to Argentina , but this year the biggest challenge has been in getting the whole WorldSBK paddock into enough planes to arrive there under strict travel protocols , including being tested at the airport before they go to the circuit . The only airport to fly into in Argentina is Ezeiza in Buenos Aires , so the whole paddock has to go there , then get tested , then take either internal flights to San Juan or use the Dorna charter that will take them to San Juan . Prices have gone up for international flights , availability is down , so this is going to be an expensive race weekend for all . Helen Taylor from the Pata Yamaha with Brixx team is responsible for getting her people to the race and with her colleagues they have had this race planned for a long time , even if some things were still not completely defined just before the Portimao weekend began . They even have some special long haul items to save on weight . “ Most of our empty flight cases were in the UK , 12 of them , but some of them are used as storage inside the trucks , and are due to arrive on Saturday . Literally empty crates will arrive from Verwood , with that cost borne by Dorna . The majority of the equipment will go to Argentina but some of the equipment stays on the trucks . It is all ‘ weighted ,’” said Helen , meaning that they know how much it all weighs . It was not sure if Argentina was really going to be on , so there had to be some last minute work put in even just before Portimao . “ The garage panels that is used at European races is not taken on a long haul , we use a lighter weight fabric systems . Those had to be reprinted and hand carried out here by a supplier so we can actually take those . We have had to think about a few things last minute . So we have had to get those things changed , because of
