my dad . At six years old I started racing . From when I was three , I was always thinking about bikes and playing with bikes and always in the workshop . I raced oval until I was 13 . I won the championship in Argentina . Then I started road racing in Argentina when I was 14 or 15 .”
Things then got international for Tati , as his long distance road to WorldSBK . “ I went to US and raced in the Red Bull rookies . That started my career outside of Argentina , because thanks to that , it was the first step to go outside and get to be a professional .” He was third that season , instantly showing his talent outside his native land .
Having followed the route of the Pan-American highway , so to speak , in a south to north direction , he won his first big-time championship a year later . “ I raced AMA Supersport with Kawasaki America - and I won the championship .” It would not be his only championship win , but more of that later . “ From there , Kawasaki Argentina got me to Italy ,” said Tati . “ My first year in the Italian championship I was on a STK600 with BWG Racing , a small team from Rome . It was my first year in Italy , so it was all new for me . Also , I was alone in Europe and Italy , so it was a big sacrifice . I was 18 years old living in Italy , outside of Rome . So , I didn ’ t know anybody . All was new .” He would eventually win the STK1000 Chsmpionship on a Barni Ducati in 2014 , but only after lots of hard work and commitment to his new working life in Europe .
But did all that make you stronger Tati ? “ Maybe I grew up faster than if I had someone all the time saying , ‘ It ’ s OK , it ’ s OK ?’ You have to find the strength from internally . Every lesson is personal and you have to make a mistake to learn .”
So what does it mean to him to race at home - pressure or inspiration ? “ For me , the first year was a new experience because
