I took that as an opportunity to sell each one for $.25. It’s funny because the same place that I bought the candy from was the same place I bought that $5 2XL white T-shirt from. Everyone would wear a white T-shirt to school, so I decided to paint on mine. At that time there was a fitted hat that was pretty popular that had evil eyes on them. I ended up painting a face to those eyes on the T-shirt and wore it to school. That’s when people started to ask me to custom make their white T-shirts.
How is it working for Cleveland Cavalier NBA player Jr Smith’s brand Team Swish as a Creative Director? Why do you think he felt like you were the man for this position?
I look at it as a learning experience on how to run a business. I figure out what’s the do’ and don’ts on how to actually have a business. Even though I was the creative director there I also worked in the store as the cashier and visual merchandiser. I would open and close the store.
He thought I was right for the position because he always knew me for being creative since I was young. When he seen that I had a brand of my own and I would post different artwork on my Instagram, he figured out it would be good for me to work for him.
You do a lot of free hand work, from canvas paintings, murals, purses and of course clothing where do you get your art expertise from?
I get my art expertise from my family and just living life. A lot of my creations come off of natural vibes. I really don’t like to force anything because that’s when I feel that my pieces are not what I would like

them to be. I understand that piece is a representation of me and once it’s out there it’s out there.
How difficult was it balancing sports, running a business and keeping up with grades in school? What tips can you give someone also juggling their dreams with priorities?
