Cullman Regional adds staff , technology & services with eye toward future expansion

Even in the face of a challenging summer that saw Cullman
Regional adapt to a new reality in meeting the public it serves , the hospital has made some significant boosts in its medical staffing , the technologies available to assess and treat patients , and the facilities where patients receive care .
“ We want people to choose our providers and our facility because they know they are getting not only the latest technology available , but also the highest quality treatment as well ,” says
Cullman Regional CEO James Clements . “ Over the past year , we have worked to recruit a number of new physician specialties that community members previously had to travel out of town to see , and we look forward to more growth in the future .”
One of the most significant coming expansions will see the hospital set a new footprint in Morgan County with the opening of the Hartselle Health Center , which is set to break ground this month . The new facility will feature an urgent care center , a specialty physician clinic , and an outpatient imaging center , according to the hospital , and is expected to open in the fall of 2021 .
Also in progress at the hospital ’ s main Cullman campus is an ER expansion project , part of an overall $ 30 million capital investment announced in 2019 with the goal of expanding the Emergency Room area and its treatment capacity . The current Phase 2 part of the expansion will add additional space to the ER , including the 8 new behavioral health treatment
