“ You learn to live with other people, to appreciate your buddies. When you’ re in the Army, you feel like you’ ve got helpers with you.”
Faith has guided Bowling throughout his life. A lifelong member of the Faith Christian Church, he says his beliefs have anchored him.“ I’ ve been a Christian for many, many years,” he said.“ If you leave the Lord out of your life, you don’ t have a lot of hope.” Reflecting on his journey— from a farm boy who“ rode a mule to church” to a veteran, husband, father, and man of faith— Bowling says he’ s simply grateful.“ We were blessed with wonderful parents,” he said.“ They taught us the right things. I just hope my life has been a benefit to someone else.”
