The
Performance
Management
and
Remuneration Committee is pleased to present
its report for the year ended 31 March 2017.
Performance Management and Remuneration
Committee
The
Performance
Management
and
Remuneration Committee is a sub-committee
of
the
National
Executive
Committee
(NEC) and it supports implementation and
institutionalisation of performance management
within the organisation. The Committee is
an advisory body to the NEC, authorised to
review, guide and support SALGA in the proper
implementation and strategic alignment of the
organisational performance management policy
and procedures, remuneration philosophy and
strategy.
Responsibilities of the committee
The National Executive Committee of SALGA
established the Performance Management and
Remuneration Committee as its advisory body
that has an oversight over the implementation
of the Performance Management System policy
and procedures, as well as the remuneration
policies and practices of SALGA.
The main purpose of the Performance
Management and Remuneration Committee is
to ensure the adoption of remuneration policies
which:

a) aim to attract and retain top talent;
b) are aligned with the organisation’s strategy;
and
c) drive performance in the long-and short-
term.

assist SALGA in: maintaining the integrity of
the performance management system; exercise
oversight over the implementation of the
performance management system and policy, as
well as the remuneration policies and practices
