Dissemination method
Findings presented at the School of Public Management and
Administration (SPMA) conference that was hosted by the University
of Pretoria on 26-27 October 2016. The study findings were also
disseminated at the launch of the PEERC on 28 March 2017.
Study was concluded and a roundtable discussion was held with
municipalities and other stakeholders on 29 March 2017.

A study on the cost benefit analysis of the municipal barometer was
concluded. The electronic survey link was disseminated via a circular to
all municipalities through the Office of the Chief Executive Officer on
30 January 2017.
The 20 year review of SALGA was completed in November 2016. The
content of the report was used for profiling a number of initiatives.
A research paper was developed and the findings were presented at the
School of Public Management and Administration (SPMA) conference
hosted by the University of Pretoria on 26-27 October 2016.
Marketing communications, stakeholder
management
Marketing has executed various exciting activities
in line with the organisation’s mandate to profile
SALGA and the sector locally and internationally.
Leading up to the local government elections
held on the 3 August 2016, SALGA embarked
on a media campaign executed largely on radio
aimed at educating the public on the role of
local government in restoring human dignity.
The radio execution was rolled out nationally
comprising a mix of 30-second adverts together
with a public relations element made up of
interviews and online presence.
