Abhari: I did not feel during the twenty-three years I spent in Kazakhstan any kind of alienation.
Abhari pointed out that he was often invited by Kazakh families who did not know him personally but had mutual friends with
him, only because he is an Arab, to recite for them a verse or two of the Book of Allah (The Qur›an) and to supplicate for them in
Arabic, a language that has a beautiful sound to their ears. They also asked him to relate to them from the Prophet›s biography
or even to talk to them about Arab countries the state of which they were ignorant of. The Soviet Union was living in isolation from
the world and did not encourage its citizens to travel out of the Union States and even often prevented them from doing that.
These families had further prepared costly and excessive banquets for him. This drew him very close to these good people and
he never felt homesick or alienated during the twenty-three years he spent in Kazakhstan. He advised Arab businessmen for long
to invest in Kazakhstan in the early nineties of the last century.
Abhari: «I call on investors to invest in Kazakhstan because it is a country very rich in vast
fortunes that have not been exploited well.»
Kazakhstan is a very rich country with vast fortunes that have not been exploited well. Oil reserves in Kazakhstan qualify it to join
the ten leading petroleum exporting countries in the world. This country also owns large amounts of gas, phosphorite, uranium,
copper and iron. As for the field of agricultural, Kazakhstan owns more than half a million square kilometers of cultivable land
and the same for pastures. There is also an excellent opportunity for investment in education, whether in schools or even in
private universities. The Turkish have entered into a successful attempt in investing in this area. He added that a final remark to
make is related to an important issue which is the Kazakh-Arab relations at the governmental level. The Kazakh President has
excellent personal relations with most Arab leaders and there is a marked interest in encouraging Arab businessmen to invest in
the Republic of Kazakhstan. We hope that what we have written here would be of interest and we welcome you to Kazakhstan.
