meet sua’s new principal
Introducing Dr. Mari Thomas
This August, when students
return for a new year at
Saint Ursula Academy, a new
principal will be leading our
school. Dr. Mari Thomas steps
in to her new role July 1.
Dr. Thomas has spent this
school year serving as
Assistant Principal for Student
Affairs, while simultaneously
shadowing Craig Maliborski,
who, following a great deal of
discernment and prayer, chose
to leave his role as principal
after seven years to assume the
new role of Athletic Director at
Saint Ursula.
Dr. Thomas has vast experience
and qualifications. The
addition of her background in Catholic girls’ education made her the perfect choice to be Saint
Ursula’s next principal. In her first year at Saint Ursula, she has made a big impact in student
programming, research on students’ emotional well-being, and admissions and recruitment
strategies. She holds a PhD in school psychology and brings deep experience in strategic
program development, administration, and secondary girls’ education.

Lelia Keefe Kramer.
In addition to her impressive qualifications, Dr. Thomas also brings a fun side to her role,
which the students love. She dressed up for every pep rally and lent her bubbly and nurturing
personality to many events.
