Up and Away
Using what they learned about heat and air in science class, seventh graders constructed models of hot air balloons they sought to launch in Saint David’s backyard. Designs and materials varied and after each attempted launch, the boys discussed what went right, and what went wrong with teacher Ed Carr, making for a thoroughly engaging and educational hands-on learning experience. Each trimester boys complete such hands-on performances to master the scientific concepts introduced in class.
