AROUND CAMPUS Grand Time in a Grand Venue The PA Benefit Auction, welcoming Headmaster David O’Halloran and his family to the Saint David’s community, was a great success, raising more than $500,000 for the school. Clifford Harvard and Kathryn Tyree chaired the Benefit. Lorraine Lilley and Bridget Russo were the Auction Chairs, and Caroline Converse and Victoria Venediger chaired the journal. Held at the grand midtown landmark Cipriani, the evening included the auction, dinner, and dancing, and featured the faculty singing their “original” renditions of “Waltzing Matilda” and “Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport”—national songs from Dr. O’Halloran’s native Australia—as a way to welcome the new Headmaster. As noted by Board Chair Gene Williams, “Tonight we come together as a community to celebrate David O’Halloran and the promise of his leadership.” Dr. O’Halloran thanked the entire community for their support, and in particular Parents Association President Deban Flexner and officers Cristina Botta, Bettina Burda, Kelsey Daly, Mary Ellen McMillan, and Julia Ryan for their efforts to make the evening such a success.
