Saffron Walden County High School
was formally known as The Farm

there has also been a change in staff,
ASU is now run by Esther Blakey and
Emily Duff. The ASU offers a range of
City and Guilds courses from Level 1
to Level 3, the resource is also used
regularly by other schools in the area
as well as offering interactive nursery
visits.
We have a wide range of animals,
including livestock (Dexter Cattle,
British Saanen Goats, Ryeland sheep),
Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Ferrets, Chickens
and a small Reptile room.
The ASU plans to open to the
community by offering children’s

The Exchange Gallery at Saffron
Walden Library is delighted to exhibit
the wonderful pen drawings of local
artist John Bryning.
John’s work is highly accomplished
from years of experience. An artist
since the age of 3 he attended South
West Essex Technical College and
School of Art at 16, and two years later
honed his skills as a draughtsman in
Transport Command as part of his
National Service. ‘Visual art should be
pleasurable, joyful, meaningful, and
possibly remind you of happy times
past and even suggest avenues yet to
be explored. Also it should invite you
to mentally step into the picture for a
moments pleasure.’
Come and see a number of original
works, plus signed copies will be
available. All profi ts will be donated to
the RSPCA Danaher Animal Home in
Braintree.
