The Flyer Education Agricultural Science Unit at Saffron Walden County High School The Agricultural Science Unit (ASU) at Saffron Walden County High School was formally known as The Farm Club. Along with the change of name there has also been a change in staff, ASU is now run by Esther Blakey and Emily Duff. The ASU offers a range of City and Guilds courses from Level 1 to Level 3, the resource is also used regularly by other schools in the area as well as offering interactive nursery visits. We have a wide range of animals, including livestock (Dexter Cattle, British Saanen Goats, Ryeland sheep), Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Ferrets, Chickens and a small Reptile room. The ASU plans to open to the community by offering children’s parties and educational visits to community groups. Please contact [email protected] for more details. John’s work is highly accomplished from years of experience. An artist since the age of 3 he attended South West Essex Technical College and School of Art at 16, and two years later honed his skills as a draughtsman in Transport Command as part of his National Service. ‘Visual art should be pleasurable, joyful, meaningful, and possibly remind you of happy times past and even suggest avenues yet to be explored. Also it should invite you to mentally step into the picture for a moments pleasure.’ Come and see a number of original works, plus signed copies will be available.
