Conservatory too hot to be a playroom ?
Often families buy a house with a conservatory in the hope that it will be an ideal children ’ s playroom .
Parents want a playroom where the children can have a space to call their own , watch their own TV shows and keep toys away from the main living areas in the house .
But then the dream comes crashing down when the conservatory either ends up too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter for the children to use it .
This means toys end up being kept in the main living areas of the house because the children don ’ t want to play in the conservatory . Then there is no ‘ adult space ’ where parents can relax at the end of the day and visitors are often stepping over the children ’ s play area when they arrive .
What families need is an all year round living space for the children to use that is comfortable , whatever the season . Luckily a Guardian Warm Roof solves all of these problems , and creates a lifestyle solution by making the conservatory into a proper room .
Adding a Guardian Warm Roof to your existing conservatory is a cost effective way of retaining current floor space whilst improving the energy efficiency of the structure . It will be nice and cool in summer – cosy and warm in winter .
When you choose a Guardian Warm Roof , the conservatory roof is removed and replaced with attractive lightweight tiles or slates to match your home . Inside , the ceiling can be plastered , with spotlights and even roof light windows installed making it a seamless extension to your home . Meanwhile , the windows and doors of your existing conservatory are retained . The work can be carried out in just a few days and the difference in insulation is felt immediately .
What ’ s more , the conservatory is now legally an extension ; the roof is installed by trained specialists and is in full compliance with current building regulations . This means when you come to sell the house it can legally be marketed as an extra room .
Find out how you can gain an all-yearround playroom simply by replacing your conservatory roof . Visit http :// www . projects4roofing . co . uk / to find out more about this simple solution . The Rotary Club of Saffron Walden is part of a worldwide organisation , Rotary International . The local club meets at the Saffron Walden Golf Club on the second , fourth and fifth Wednesday evenings of every month .
Being part of Rotary is more than just giving back to the community by volunteering . It is also about members bringing their skills , experience and enthusiasm to help it thrive , whilst making some great friends along the way . Membership is open to men and women of all ages who are business , professional or community leaders and who want to use their experience for the benefit of others .
The Saffron Walden club is involved in several local and international projects . One current project is with the Yorkshire-based charity PhysioNet . Members collect surplus or unwanted wheelchairs and other mobility and physiotherapy equipment for onward shipping to PhysioNet in Yorkshire . It is then refurbished , packed into containers and shipped to third-world countries .
The University of Cambridge is looking for volunteers to take part in a survey of single parents who do not live with their children full time .
Everyone who takes part will be given a £ 20 Love to Shop voucher in return for answering questions during a brief telephone interview .
The university wants to speak to single parents , aged 35 or under , who live with their children less than half of the time . The researchers need to speak to parents who have their child to stay with them for at least one night a fortnight , or would if they had suitable accommodation . This will relate to a research project about housing .
Participants must have children under 18 and must not be living with a partner to qualify .
Other recent projects include organising a trip to the pantomime in Cambridge for children of service personnel at Carver Barracks , in conjunction with Saffron Insurance , participation in the Rotary Young Chef Award and a Christmas Street collection which raised around £ 3800.00 for local charities .
Annually in March , the club holds mock interviews for year-12 students at local schools , The purpose of the interviews is to provide the students with interview experience and give a flavour of what to expect in an interview situation outside of the confines of school . This year more than 300 students were interviewed over a two-day period .
Rotary International was founded in 1905 in Chicago and is now the world ’ s largest international service organisation with 1.2 million professional men and women as members . There are 33,000 clubs in 200 countries and geographical areas . In the UK , there are 1,800 clubs and more than 51,000 members .
