Sabre's View April 2013 | Page 3

Part of being a Crimson Sabre is developing and maintaining a personal level of fitness that will allow you to participate safely in the sport. The game lengths in the style of paintball that we play vary. Big games can last up to 3 days. During the recruit phase we are shown what to expect through day hikes, and field exercises, that culminate with your field practicum testing. You have to take ownership of your physical condition. Use the opportunities that the team provides to be able to get to a level of fitness that will allow you to participate in these activities, safely, to the best of your ability.

We strive to recognize and develop leadership potential, critical thinking/decision making skills, and natural aptitudes in all our members. During the recruit phase we get to demonstrate and be assessed on our capabilities. Do you have the desire to be more than just a shooter?

We want to grow the reputation of our team and the participation in the sport.

Some of the things we do that help in this are our participation in volunteer work as a team. Through our volunteer work we have made, and continue to make, contacts with people that might have never heard of paintball otherwise. Our interaction with others outside of the sport has allowed us, and will continue to allow us, to provide factual first hand knowledge, information, and a point of contact for those that have questions or are interested in the sport or our team.
