Indeed, optimal irrigation, water conservation and sustainable development are all key aims of SABI. The mission of SABI has never been more relevant to agricultural and landscape irrigation practises.

SABI strives with Congress 2017 – a unique, dynamic and knowledge-boosting event on the African irrigation calendar- to attract as many irrigation experts, farmers and irrigation companies as possible as attendees.

We are expecting approximately 250 people from South Africa nationally to attend and also delegates from Africa and further afield. The event will be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa( ECSA) for qualifying delegates to receive Continuous Professional Development( CPD) points.

CONGRESS OBJECTIVES

As an established event at the heart of the increasingly dynamic South African and African market, the SABI National Congress will again be the unique place to explore and upgrade knowledge.

During the meeting of irrigation designers and other interested persons at the Congress, presentations will be made by representatives of industry on various topics of current importance and interests. Over the two and a half days of presentations, the following themes are to be discussed:

Irrigation under-cover( plastic and net)

Landscape and turf irrigation design( including grey water systems)

Alternative energy sources for irrigation systems( solar, wind and hydro)

Water quality and treatment options for irrigation applications

Water measurement and management technologies plus applications

Improved scheduling technologies and practices

Drainage systems, technologies and design techniques.

VENUE

Congress will be held in the beautiful setting of Somerset West’ s pristine Lord Charles Hotel- near both the Mother City of Cape Town and Stellenbosch- nestled in the mountainous and oceanic beauty of the Helderberg.

EXHIBITION

There will be an exhibition of irrigation equipment. This will be an ideal platform for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their products to a highly focused and professional audience.

There will be place for only 20 companies to exhibit.

Exhibition area( 3m x 3m) shell scheme walling with fascia.

1 x Company name, 2 x spotlights( 150 Watt), part distribution board, 1 x plug point, 1 x table and 2 x chairs.

Advantages for exhibitors: Accommodation( 2 nights) for 1 person, attendance and all meals.

Company name and logo will be displayed during the congress.

Coffee / Tea and Lunch will be served within the exhibition area.
