William and Margaret Albrets Nursing Scholarship College of Nursing Scholarship This scholarship was established by Bill and Margaret Albrets to encourage students who have demonstrated the capacity to achieve educational and professional goals, the motivation to achieve these goals, and the initiative to seek opportunities to further their progress. This scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate students in the MSU College of Nursing who demonstrate financial need and who have maintained a 3.0 or higher grade point average. Megan Krolikowski Traditional BSN Student Harold C. and Helen E. Buckler Memorial Nursing Scholarship This scholarship was established to honor the grandparents of Kristin B. and Gilbert D. Padula. It was Helen E. Buckler who inspired this scholarship through her long nursing career in Southeast Michigan. Kristin has fond memories of her grandmother who was at her mother’s side when she was born and was there throughout her life. This scholarship provides financial assistance to a student from Southeast Michigan (Macomb, Oakland or Wayne County) who is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Alexandria Adams Traditional BSN Student The mission of the College of Nursing at Michigan State University is to enhance the health of the community by providing excellence in nursing education, research, and practice that will advance the profession of nursing and serve as an advocate for optimal healthcare for all people. The College currently enrolls more than 500 undergraduate and graduate students. Its more than 80 faculty members represent a diverse blend of leading scholars and distinguished healthcare professionals who bring real world experience to the classroom. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a degree from the College of Nursing. Recipients must demonstrate sound academic achievement and leadership involvement in community service activities. Kendall Austin Traditional BSN Student Kristin Castine Doctor of Nursing Practice Student Patricia West PhD Student CVS Foundation MSN Scholarship Fund This scholarship fund is presented by the CVS Health Foundation in an effort to reduce the nationwide shortage of Family Nurse Practitioners, and will provide support for four College of Nursing students in pursuit of their master’s-level education. Students eligible for this award must be in good academic standing, be interested in a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and intern/volunteer his or her time with an organization that supports underserved populations. Twenty-five percent of scholarship dollars are to be awarded to fluent speaking bilingual students.
