ELECTIONS RESULTS
The following are important races that SAAA chose to not participate in :
U . S . House Chip Roy – ( R – TX21 ) – 52 % ( Roy had a strong and well-financed opponent but was able to keep his seat .) Tony Gonzales – ( R – TX23 ) – 51 % ( This is the seat currently held by Congressman Will Hurd , who decided to not run for reelection . This was amongst one of the most-watched Congressional races , it is considered the most swing-district in the country ; and Gonzales kept it on the side of the Republicans .)
TX Senate Roland Gutierrez ( D – SD19 ) – 50 % ( Senate District 19 is the seat mentioned above that was lost by Sen . Pete Flores . This seat was vacated in 2018 by then Democrat Senator Carlos Uresti , and Sen . Flores won the seat in a special election in the latter part of that year .)
TX House Kyle Biedermann ( R – HD73 , Fredericksburg ) – 75 % ( No special comment here .)
Bexar County Commissioners Court A significant change took place in the Bexar County Commissioners Court . Two of the four commissioner seats will now have new commissioners .
During the earlier part of the pandemic , in the 2020 Primary Election for Bexar County Commissioner Precinct 1 seat ( south and west parts of Bexar County ), Rebeca Clay-Flores upset the 16-year incumbent Sergio “ Chico ” Rodriguez ; and , at yesterday ’ s General Election , Clay-Flores beat her Republican opponent .
Rebeca Clay-Flores ( D – Precinct 1 ) – 65 %
The current Bexar County Commissioner for Precinct 3 ( north part of Bexar County ), announced before the Primary Election that he was not going to seek re-election and from a long list with a total of eight candidates , Trish Deberry made it to a run-off election and won the run-off election ; Tuesday night , Deberry won the General Election .
