Building a fresh, new
look for RDP homes
With a growing population in the metropolis and an
increasing demand for housing, Raubex Building is solving

n November last year the Member
of Mayoral Committees (MMC) for
Human Settlements in the
Gauteng municipalities, Lesiba
Mpya, announced a strategy to build
high rise RDP homes.
“As a landlocked region, our
strategy is to build high rise units so
that we speak to scarcity of land and
promote integrated settlements as
well as accommodate large numbers
of people in a relativ ely small area,”
he says.
As the MMC for the Ekurhuleni
region, he says that the city intends
to deliver 100 000 homes in the
next five years.
