Jesus walked the earth over two thousand years ago. He came to teach us how to live. He taught us how to embody His love, patience and compassion to those we encounter, while on this earth.

One thing I have come to realize is, there are different levels to each component, not just to His love, patience and compassion He constantly displayed to those who followed Him, sought Him out for life-changing encounters or those who came to condemn, chastise and test Jesus, but also different levels to the Fruit of the Spirit. The Bible says in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such there is no law.

Let's look at forgiveness as an example.

Most of us have been taught, that when we pray, to ask the Lord for forgiveness for the "things" we have done (sin). We may utter, "Father, forgive me for my mean thoughts about Judy." And, we know in that instant God will forgive us and remember our sins no more, as mentioned in Hebrews 8:12, “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
