appear, adolescent impulsive emotions and rebellious attitudes make problems more
complicated. Therefore, it’s necessary for society to train students to use reasonable
communicative methods to negotiate with others, rather than provoking aggressive
attitude to express their angers.
Conclusion
Under the minority group discrimination in the United States, due to the obvious cultural
differences, the uncertainty and unknown between myself and this unfamiliar environment
have brought me instinctual resistance and escaping behaviors. Whether I come from a
developing country will be regarded as backward? Whether Chinese assertion of non-be-
lief can be judged as losing our conscience? Will I really experience riots and expose in
danger of racial tensions? Without sensitive discrimination, it’s necessary for prospective
Chinese international students to raise awareness of racial tensions and understand local
political situation. When you compete with others for the valuable opportunity, but failed
due to your lack of local identity; when you talk to your close friends, but the cultural
conflict and argument appears; when people suspect your personal abilities because of
ethnic background; when you are requested to a demonstration relying on different races,
will you still remain calm to analyze the current situation rationally and try to establish
the integrated relationship with the external environment?
As a prospective Chinese international student, the racial tensions in the United
States make me feel confused and helpless about the direction of my future development
and the situation I will confront. Without doubt, the United States can provide great
potential benefits in helping me to pursue academic study, and I am eager to integrate into
this diverse environment to improve myself. But based on the serious scenes of minority
group discrimination in literature work and the event, the barriers in society stop me from
facing differences bravely enough in this unfamiliar environment. Especially for prospec
tive international students, most of them have not personally experienced the problem of
racial discrimination in the American environment. Propagating the proper reactions of
citizens and cooperation with the police urgently needs the public attention of society.
Please don't let the impulse dominate your rationality under discrimination! Please stop
using violence to against human’s inherent differences! Please give the infants more
positive energy to eliminate the hatred the society gives to them! Racial tensions become
no longer a barrier and concerns of Chinese students making choices. By establishing the
integrated relationship with different people, international students subjectively accept the
