This is the first year we have been able to separate the U10’s Girls out from the boys mini’s to their own team. So far the girls have played 2 away blitzes, An Gaeltacht, Corinthians. Unfortunately due to the bad weather this year a lot of the blitzes have been cancelled. We have been invited to the Ladies 6 Nations V Scotland on February 2nd in Energia Park(Donnybrooke) where the U10’s girls will play against the teams drawn from the other 3 provinces. We plan on bringing all girls from all ages who play for CRFC to this event MINI’S BOYS This year has been a great turnout for mini rugby, with 75 players ranging from our U8’s to U12’s. This is our strongest year yet for players! Our mini’s have played 2 away blitzes so far, 1 against An Gaeltacht, the other Oughterard. 3 more blitzes are planned for between January and March. The boys played 1 home blitz against An Gaeltacht. The Connacht blitzes start in February 2020 With such talent and dedication from both our girls and boys, the future for rugby is bright. Mini’s Coordinator, Ian Shanahan. “The Clifden Station House” are proud sponsors of Connemara RFC and have been for many years. We were thrilled to see the senior team win the double Connacht championship last season and it looks like they have the league in the bag already this year with games to spare and will hopefully win the Connacht Cup in coming weeks, thus achieving the “double on the double”. Outside of the Senior Team there is a lot of talent and the future looks promising for Connemara RFC and we at the Clifden Station House are happy to continue our relationship with the Club and wish them every success in the coming weeks and for the future.” T:+3539521699 F:+3539521667 E: [email protected] www.rugbyclubmag.com 47
